LITERALLY hours before going to press with this issue, Psychic News (PN) entered one of its most challenging times.

PN was founded in 1932 and Two Worlds in 1887. Both were established by famous mediums.

They combined six years ago to form a single publication to promote Spiritualism from an independent viewpoint and wider mind-body-spirit issues.

Psychic News was relaunched in 2011 as a magazine in a joint project with a Spiritualist charity, which generously funded PN on a monthly basis. It was previously a weekly newspaper.

For a period, the charity owned PN before transferring it over to us. Prior to Covid we were finally about to become financially self-sufficient.

The pandemic hit us extremely hard – as it did with everybody – and we had to rely on the charity’s continued support whilst we rebuilt our position again.

Following Covid lockdowns, many Spiritualist churches found that their congregations had declined. This greatly affected our circulation and sales.

Recently, the charity announced it was no longer willing to continue helping to fund PN, would reduce its subsidy incrementally and seek the return of an office, which it purchased for us.

Following a change of trustees, last month we approached the charity and asked them to reconsider and extend the time limit to cease further funding totally. Sadly, on July 24 we heard that they are unwilling to do so.

Without PN, Spiritualism will not have a printed magazine on sale in churches, centres, healing sanctuaries and newsagents. Our work spreading the Spiritualist religion and its life-changing philosophy worldwide will cease.

In an urgent effort to save PN, we have launched a crowdfunding appeal in the hope that kind-hearted readers and organisations will send a donation or arrange a monthly standing order to help our situation.

Editorially our team is tiny. It comprises only two full-time members of staff and three part-timers. Every single penny which is donated will be used to cover the magazine’s running costs.

Please, please help us in our mission to continue promoting Spiritualism’s vital message about survival after death, spiritual healing and other equally important allied issues. No amount is too small… or too large!
